Amazon flat-file errors
Amazon Error 8567: SKU Maps to No ASIN and Can’t Create One
Error 8567 means two things at once: your SKU doesn’t map to any existing ASIN, AND it contains invalid or insufficient values for the attributes Amazon needs to CREATE a new ASIN (typically a GTIN that isn’t on Amazon plus missing new-ASIN data). Because it spans both matching and creation, 8567 often needs Seller Support — we are explicit about which rows we can fix versus which you must escalate.
How to fix it
- Confirm the GTIN really isn’t on Amazon. Check whether the UPC/EAN matches an existing ASIN. If it should match, the issue is the identifier or attributes, not a genuine new product.
- Complete new-ASIN attributes where possible. If you are legitimately creating the ASIN, fill the required creation attributes (brand, product type, key descriptors) that came in invalid or blank.
- Escalate insufficient or GS1 cases. If the GTIN isn’t Amazon-recognized and you lack the data (or GS1 ownership) to create the ASIN, those rows are flagged for Seller Support — a flat-file edit alone won’t clear them.
- Re-upload only the fixable rows. Re-upload the rows where creation data was completed; handle the escalation rows through Support with the notes provided.
Frequently asked questions
What does Amazon error 8567 mean?
Your SKU does not map to any ASIN and also lacks valid values for the attributes required to create a new ASIN — commonly a GTIN that is not on Amazon combined with insufficient new-ASIN data.
Can I fix 8567 myself in the flat-file?
Sometimes. If you are creating a new ASIN and just missed required attributes, completing them can clear it. If the GTIN isn’t Amazon-recognized or you lack creation data, it usually needs Seller Support.
Why do you not auto-fix every 8567 row?
Because many 8567 rows require information or GS1 ownership we cannot invent. We fix what is genuinely a missing-attribute case and clearly flag the rest to escalate, so you do not pay for an unfixable file.
